1. Faith - What is your definition?
2. What ways do you foster faith versus obedience versus obedient faith? I know I have the pull to manipulate their behaviors at times and don't take this into consideration...........
3. Think about "doing" good works - do we give our children the desire to do good works with their heart?
4. I find it really comforting to hear that I am never parenting alone and the Spirit of God is my resource. Do you feel that you are coming along side Him or pushing Him out of the way to go it alone (those are my words from my awareness of my parenting style - someone raised to be an 'independent' and 'strong' woman)?
My favorite line from this chapter, "our part is not to control our children's behavior but rather to create a place for the Holy Spirit to do His work."

Spiritual Parenting
Chapter 1 - In the Path of The Divine
1. Do you struggle with trying to be "supermom?" What are your expectations of yourself?
2. What are the unique qualities of each of your children (how are they fearfully and wonderfully made)?
3. Do you find it difficult to let God be in control and lean on him with your parenting issues? Are you like me and want to control their behavior and sheild them from harm - instead of help them be transformed internally and teach them to be in the "path of the Divine.....and fall in love with Jesus."?
4. Do you have good examples of how you use (or have used) everyday moments to model or educate your children on their spiritual path? Please share how you cultivate their environment to grow their faith.........
5. Taken from the book: "What is my end goal in raising each of the children God has entrusted to me, and then how will I parent them wtih that end in mind?"
My favorite line from this chapter, "Spiritual parenting is not perfect parenting - its parenting from a spiritual perspective with eternity in mind."

Here we go.............
Hello Ladies,
I am so new at this, I am not sure exactly how this is going to work - but here it goes.
I have invited you to this blog as you join me in my journey of parenting and we begin our study of Spiritual Parenting. For those of you joining us each week, this is a chance to get some study questions and think about things between meetings. For those of you who can't meet with us for this book or for a few weeks due to scheduling conflicts, this is a place to go to keep up and study a little on your own.
Feel free to post your comments / suggestions and feelings about what we are discussing. My goal is for this to be an open dialogue, not my ranting and raving =)
Looking forward to this adventure with you - laughing and learning together. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
